The following courses will enable the EMT-Basic certified students to obtain continuing education and to take the practical skills exam required by the County of Los Angeles EMS Agency and the State of California for renewal of the EMT-Basic certification. These courses are designed to refresh didactic knowledge and practical skills the EMT-Basic learned in their initial certification course. At present, the County of Los Angeles EMS Agency requirements for certification renewal are: 24 hours of continuing education and successfully passing the State of California practical skills exam for EMT-Basic Recertification. These requirements change if your certification has lapsed or if you want to recertify your NREMT.

  • Assisting ALS/Expanded Scope
  • Medical Emergency Review
  • Traumatic Emergency Review

You may enroll and pay for your CE hours or course on-line. However, you must choose the specific class or classes you wish to attend. Please refer to our Up Coming Continuing Education Schedule for the times and dates of the available
